Using tandoor

What is tandoor?
Wikipedia has a definition: The term tandoor  refers to a variety of ovens, the most commonly known is a cylindrical clay or metal oven used in cooking and baking.
In my place we have the devices with the same idea. Russian oven made of clay bricks can be used as tandoor too, but it's huge, and it needs a lot of firewood to manage cooking.
That's why when you have shortage of firewood use small tandoor is a better idea.
When we were camping last time, we had a small tandoor and free time to use it.
The idea is very simple, you make the fire inside the clay barrel, and maintain good fire inside it for awhile:

When the tandoor is hot enough (I determine that by color of its walls), like that:

After that you can put the things inside.
Tandoor is good for everything: vegetables, meat, bread, because of stable temperature, and predictable behavior it's a pleasure to cook with it.
There are many different devices to keep things inside. We used this metal bucket:

We put meat inside, and close the cover.
Few moments later I should to keep boys and don't allow them open it, the smile was so good ;)

Because of the way to transfer heat (slowly, many infrared emissions) the dish is usually delicious.

Did you use such devices for cooking?
How do you cook during camping?

Our first marathon

Each year in my town we have the event "Give five".
Give five, mean five fingers, mean handshake, which mean help sometimes.

The local big company settles it.

It's a mass marathon, with two roads, one - 1 km long for children, second - 5 km long for adults.

For each participant who reach the finish, this company will transfer some amount of money to charity fund.
It's well organized, a lot of fun events inside, so our town inhabitants like to participate.

Many other events were thrown before and after this marathon.
Chess playing, bike riding, gymnastic, dance and signing.
It was a really good place to spend time.
I attach some video to this post, you can see.
The concept of marathon and mass jogging was new for my boy, he asked me for explanation, but I decided the better way to explain is to participate.
That is our photo on the start:

Unfortunately, we didn't it very well. My boy fell down after the start, and he got tired fast, so we were almost last who finished. We were faster than only a few children ;)
Of course it's my fault, we did it without any preparation, and it what should happen.
My boy got the medal anyway (because we finished), but he wasn't happy about it.
He prefers to be the first one.

After that he forced me to give him promise, that next time we would win this race.
I promised, but if and only if he will train every morning.
That was a very stupid thing! I should be smarter!
Nowadays, every morning about 7, my fully equipped boy wakes me up, and we have to run despite the fact that I hate running and I hate to wake up early.
"You promised" - he says.

I can't wait now, when he grows up and will run without me. Before that I'll suffer.

Here is a short video from local TV channel. It's in Russian, but I think there is almost nothing to translate.

Do you like running?
Do you participate in mass marathons ?
Can you run for pleasure or you have to be the first like my boy?
